From Dan Abrams on Dec 17, 2007:

Secret binding arbitration is plenty sufficient to handle this case!

She needs to name and shame the perps publicly.

Why was a man conducting this interview? This is absolutely inappropriate.

October 22, 2009 | Unregistered Commenteranon

This is painful to watch. The interviewer asks her to give a step-by-step account of her rape on public television.

2:14 "What made you THINK you had been raped?" WTF?!

"Why was a man conducting this interview? This is absolutely inappropriate."

That's pretty stupid.

KBR accessory after the fact.

Maybe she CANT name and shame. I'm still waiting for my rapist to be tried, but I can't go to traditional media. I've waited just under a year. I can't imagine what she's been through. Poor woman! But brave - amazing!

Of course this is all civil lawsuit. I don't know obviously as we were not there but I have worked for a civil litigator and when it comes to a civil lawsuit with no criminal charges it is almost always absolute bull and just a payday for the woman and the lawyer.

What can we do to help?

October 23, 2009 | Unregistered CommenterBBP

Oh, she's got that right, she ain't the only one. KBR is being sued for human trafficking of third world workers. You would think the press would be all over it, but of course they're not. And they're doing all this illegal BS with *our* tax dollars.

You know what gets me? The Feds pursue cases of Americans going overseas to have sex with children/slaves/etc. but they won't pursue this. Oh, that's right, they won't pursue this kind of thing because KBR has the politicians in their pocket.

Every woman - and every man who cares about his wife, mother, daughter, girlfriend, sister, aunt, etc. - should call Senator Inyoue and demand that Franken's proposal be left in this bill. It is despicably criminal that her case has not been adjudicated and those ba$tards punished for what they did.

There should be laws against rape. Especially on the 4th of July!

Only Republicans would oppose laws against rape on the 4th of July.

I haven't liked this woman since she appeared in that movie "Halloween." And I tried that Activia stuff based on her TV commercials and it gave me the runs. What was she doing working for KBR anyway? Seems to me she was asking for this to happen. She should have stayed in Hollywood with her useless liberal socialist friends.

@watson, and some others who apparently don't understand,
Just think about it; I, with my American passport, kill some guy at a sidewalk cafe in Paris, France because of something he said to my boyfriend. Who prosecutes? It doesn't matter whether he's from Lower Slobovia or is another American, the French have jurisdiction. Got that? Good. Next point.
G.I.'s (wherever they are) are subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice. Which code is not only specific but downright draconian when it comes to rape. If those guys were US military, and assuming she was able to finger one of them (He would have rolled on his cohorts,) most would have gone to the gallows, literally, and PDQ.
But virtually any American in Iraq is immune to Iraqui law. Why? Because George W. Bush said so, that's why. I guess you could be so far removed from anything to do with the occupation forces that you would not get this coverage, but news people, employees of Blackwater, Haliburton, KBR, military contractors and virtually anyone doing business with them will get it. What does that mean? They're outside US jurisdiction and immune to Iraqui jurisdiction. Nobody can prosecute them. Not even for murder!

I wonder where the interviewer's hands were during that time.

My son was stationed at Bagram. KBR brought Indians there. The treatment these people got was appalling ! Poorly feed, treated like they were in prison. Got one yes ONE day off a year and THAT WAS

My son was stationed at Bagram for 6 months. KBR hired Indians to help do service work. These poor young people were given 1 that's ONE day OFF a year!! And that was to update their name tag information !! Slave labor & imprisonment was what it amounted to. They could leave to go home after 2 years .... That's 2 days off in 2 years , with rotten food ! My son would sneak food to the boy in the computer lab there. He would have gotten in a lot of trouble for doing that too!! I know why the world hates Americans !! It's their arrogance that is sickening . So if ANYONE can go after KBR , HAVE AT IT!! They are bad people !!

Is this supposed to be satire? This is just a disgusting website. Can you see that people can really believe that this is serious?

Surely it is not! Tell me it is NOT!

"Why was a man conducting this interview? This is absolutely inappropriate."

People who say things like this are part of the problem, not the solution. There is nothing wrong with "men" any more than there is anything wrong with "Muslims", "Canadians", "Christians" or any other group you can name. It is the INDIVIDUALS that are evil, not the race, gender, creed or group.

To say a man cannot be understanding and comforting to a female rape victim flies in the face of the men whose life's work is doing exactly that. Also, let's not forget that women perpetrate violent sex crimes as well.
